Alastair Brierley
Alastair qualified in 1987 and practised in Chester while also lecturing in law at Manchester Polytechnic. In 1990 he left private practice for academia, lecturing first at University College, Aberystwyth and then at Bristol University, before joining Garrard Mitchell in 1994. He became a partner on the merger in 2000. He specialises in wills, probate, tax planning and trusts.
As a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists, his practice is increasingly dominated by wills and property disputes. He also has a special interest in the law relating to the elderly and is a member of Solicitors for the Elderly. His hobbies include bell-ringing, bridge, sampling real ale and learning Welsh.
